The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is an outdoor event, held in a natural setting. Wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are welcome; however, guests may find some areas of the grounds challenging to travel. Pathways vary from grass and dirt to some gravel.
The Renaissance Festival provides a fully equipped and professionally staffed First Aid Station, which is clearly marked on the grounds near Petting Zoo. You can access the Festival Map here. If there is an emergency or you require help, please go to First Aid and/or find a member of Safety Services staff wearing a yellow tunic with a red cross and carrying a flagged pole.
Patrons with mobility disabilities – including those traveling with personal wheelchairs, electric scooters, or other mobility devices – should park in one of our Disability Parking spots, located a short distance from the main Festival entrance. Designated parking spots are available in the King’s Gate parking lot for patron with disabilities. A valid disability parking permit is required, and standard parking rates apply. Patrons with mobility issues and no disability parking permit can be dropped off near the front gate and the vehicle must then park in a general parking spot as directed by the parking ambassadors.
Park & Ride options are also available for patrons with disabilities at Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Park and Rides; Eagle Creek (available weekends 1 – 7), Southbridge Crossings (available weekends 4 – 7), and the Burnsville Transit Hub (available weekends 4 – 7) and Southwest Transit Park and Rides; East Creek, Southwest Station, Southwest Village and Carver Station (available weekends 1-7).
Service dogs are permitted on the festival grounds. Service dogs are those that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you want to bring your dog to the festival, please be aware of our rules and guidelines.
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival offers a limited number of motorized scooters for rent.
Renting on-site equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability. Cash, credit, and debit cards are accepted.
Guests are welcome to bring their own electric scooters. If you need access to a standard electrical outlet for charging personal mobility equipment, it is available at the scooter rental tent located outside of the front gate.
Sign Language Saturday is an annual event in which on-site ASL interpreters sign various acts and performances around the Festival. Sign Language Saturday 2026 will be held on Saturday, September 12. Guests who use oxygen are welcome to bring and use their equipment at the Festival. For safety reasons, oxygen tanks must be securely fastened to a mobility device or carried on the person; dragging or towing oxygen tanks is not permitted. Please note that rental scooters do not include oxygen tank mounts, and guests are responsible for ensuring their oxygen equipment can be safely carried or secured.

If we find your driver’s license, we will mail it back to you—that’s easy. However, articles of clothing, mugs, props, and souvenirs are not usually marked with your name and address. Some of these items make their way back to our offices and are waiting to be claimed by their rightful owner.
